Welcome to Troop 75!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. As you decide on your future scout troop, we hope that you put Troop 75 on your list of “must see” scout troops. Here is some information about our troop that we hope will convince you that we are the right troop for your scout.

We are currently celebrating our 75th year as a chartered scouting unit under the auspices of the First United Methodist Church of Delmar where we meet every Wednesday night from approximately 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. We strive to make scouting a safe learning experience thru a multitude of scouting events.

First and foremost we believe that scouting should be fun. As our schedule will attest to, we take every opportunity to be outdoors. Even when the weather does not cooperate, we make sure that we are participating in structured activities that provide our scouts with opportunities that are fun and exciting.

Just because we like to have fun does not mean that we take the scouting tradition for granted. Every third Wednesday is designated as an advancement night where scouts can meet with merit badge counselors. In addition, younger scouts who are working on trail to first class, receive individualized and group instruction by older more experienced scouts. We also participate in two weeklong summer camps, which provide ample opportunity for rank advancement.

If I had to summarize the reason for our success as a troop I would have to put on the top of my list the dedicated leadership (31 registered adults) and the commitment of our scout families. Troop 75 is truly a family oriented troop and many of our activities are open to the entire family. We are currently planning our Third Annual Labor Day Family Campout to Fish Creek Pond, which has been a resounding success for the last three years.

Another unique aspect of Troop 75 is our fundraising activity. For the last 31 years we have conducted a ski swap at the Bethlehem Central High School which we call “Sportsmart”. This event has been so successful that it is our one and only fundraising activity.

If that were not enough, I should mention that we have 41 registered scouts and 31 registered leaders. We own 10 canoes and a travel trailer with a restaurant size grill that is the heart and soul of our adult leadership. All this, along with your typical troop set up of tents, lanterns, cooking gear, and tarps that allow us to camp in just about any weather.

We certainly hope that your scout seriously considers making us their next scout troop.

Thanks again for visiting with Troop 75!

Sincerely,

Felix Rosa
