Badges at Barton

Posted on Jun 22 2022 - 2:58pm

Hello Troop 75!  We could use a few more adults to attend the Badges at Barton outing on August 19 - 21.  If your scout is signed up, and you're able to attend, please consider registering for the event.  There is no cost for adults to attend this event.  Right now we are short on drivers and could really use the help.  Thank you! (Mr. Kemp)

This Week's Update

Posted on Jun 11 2022 - 9:00am
June 15th -- 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM -- Troop Meeting at Lawson Lake Park, Feura Bush

This meeting will be a light hearted end to the school year.  We will have a bunch of games to play and Mr. Kelley is bringing the canoes for those who want to get out on the water. We will also be holding troop elections at this meeting.

Right after the opening we will conduct troop elections, so please make sure to attend so your vote is counted.  Scouts interested in running for Senior Patrol Leader should notify their respective scoutmaster of your intention to run by Sunday, June 12th.  Patrol leader elections will be held immediately after the senior patrol leader election.

We will also be doing something new this year.  We will be taking pictures of each patrol at this meeting, as well as a group photograph of the entire troop.

Finally, for parents and family members, we will hold a "how to prepare for rotary summer camp" info session during the meeting as well.

June 17th - 6:00 PM - 8:00PM -- Quarterly Court of Honor and BBQ at the Bethlehem YMCA Pavilion

At the court of honor scouts will receive their badges, awards, etc. earned since the last court of honor.  We will also be recognizing Mr. Giglia for his completion of his Wood Badge ticket.  For those who don't know, Wood Badge is an advanced, national leadership course open only to Scouting volunteers and professionals.

Finally, the highlight of our Court of Honor will be the presentation of the Eagle Scout Rank to Spencer Yarwood!!

The Court of Honor will also include a large bbq so let us know if you are coming so we have plenty of burger, dogs, drinks, etc.  If you have not done so already, please register at https://www.delmartroop75.org/node/4870.

The troop will provide the hot dogs, burgers, drinks and paper products.  We are doing a pot luck for everything else.  We ask that families bring a dish to share - entree, dessert or salad is fine. When you register for the event, please let us know what you will bring in the comments field.  If you already registered and did not list what you are bringing, click register again and you can add an update the comment section.

And, last but not least, if you have troop gear to return, including but not limited to gear boxes, please bring it to the Court of Honor.  (Mr. Kemp)

Service Opportunity on May 7th, at Elm Avenue Park

Posted on Apr 26 2022 - 4:54am

This came in recently from the Town.

The Dog Park at Elm Avenue Park in Delmar will be the site of Bethlehem’s 2022 “I Love My Park Day” on Saturday, May 7, from 9 to 11 a.m.  Volunteers of all ages are being sought for cleaning up, sprucing up and improving the Dog Park.  Stop by and learn about the new Town policy allowing dogs in all Town parks – and pick up the new brochure on etiquette and safety for dog owners and non-owners alike!

This event – postponed from May 2020 -- is being hosted by Friends of Bethlehem Parks and Recreation in conjunction with Parks & Trails New York and the Town of Bethlehem. No advanced registration is required. In the event of heavy rain, this event will be cancelled.

See the attached flyer for more details. (Mr. Kemp)
