Boy Scouts of America Troop 75 -- Delmar, New York

Boy Scout Troop 75 is part of the Fort Orange District of the Twin Rivers Council. 

 
We would like to extend our thanks to our chartering organization for the last 85 years,
the First United Methodist Church of Delmar. 
 

Troop Meeting Schedule

Location: First United Methodist Church, 428 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar

              (Fellowship Hall, bottom level)

Days:      Wednesdays when school is in session, except first Wednesday of each month.**

Time:      7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

** The first Wednesday of the month is reserved for our Parent/Committee meeting.

New BSA Rank Requirements

As many of you know, BSA has instituted new rank requirements starting this year.  I have uploaded a breakdown of the changes, as well as a print-out that may be inserted into older scoutbooks for rank advancement.  The links for these two documents are below.  As you'll see, the changes are not earth shattering.  For 2016 only, scouts who were not yet First Class as of December 31, 2015 may continue using the old requirements through First Class rank.  Scouts First Class and above as of December 31, 2015 may work on the next rank only under the old requirements.  Subsequent advancement must be under the new requirements.  Any scout who joins in 2016 must adhere to the new requirements from the start.

Reinforcing the Patrol Method and Troop Meeting Plan

The PLC has been hard at work planning our upcoming meetings. In doing so, they are guided by the Troop Meeting Plan, which is the meeting format recommended by the BSA.  Meetings will start at 7:00 p.m. with opening ceremony, and end at 8:30 p.m.  Check the troop calendar for information on what will be covered in a given meeting. Meetings will follow this general format:

Cancellation Policy

Please remember the outing cancellation policy.  If you sign up for an outing, you must cancel by de registering on the website by the menu planning meeting (normally Wednesday the week prior).  You must also make positive two way contact with the Scoutmaster and/or the trip coordinator.  Scouts will be charged $15 and adults will be charged $25 if these timelines are not met.  This policy is in place to avoid costing scouts and adults extra money for buying food that was not needed.  Thank you.

Please update the Photo Albums and File Folders with information and memories from summer camp, etc.  Click on the links to the left. For adding pictures, go to Administration/Content. If you do not have the permissions to upload, scouts should contact their Patrol Leader. Parents, contact an ASM. Life Scouts: See Advancement Folder for Eagle Project information.
